CBS is one of the big four national terrestrial TV networks in America, and the channel’s music producers chose the song “Ride With Me” for a sequence in their new big push “Swingtown,” a series that takes place in the seventies and follows a few adult couples and young people throughout the decades culture- and lifestyle.
The series has been highly publicized and controversial in conservative America, but is loved by a large crowd of viewers. ”Swingtown” is broadcast on Fridays “prime time” and have stars who appeared in both “Lost” and “Melrose Place” in the lists.
The current song “Ride With Me” is almost the only song from a “new” artist in the series, then the rest of the soundtrack consists of 70´s classics from the greatest contemporary American artists at the time. Black Cat Songs agency in Hollywood, the company “Crucial Music “(www.crucialmusic.com) managed to negotiate our song in episode 11 (Get Down), which was sent Friday, August 15.
The song in question was written by Torgny “Kingen” Karlsson and Åke Hallgren.
Black Cat Songs have been working since February with several projects in parallel in the United States, to establish contacts, and write contracts so we are obviously very pleased that our first placement “over there” turns out to be on national television channel CBS!
